In Tilidohatuk there is the Festival of Festivals and Sports and also the Celebration of the Seven Siblings.  This is when the they all celebrate their birthday and age a year, right?  So, this means that this is the same day that they are born.  So does the mother sometimes have to miss this festival because she is in labour (seems hard to imagine the Pharoh missing a festival) or are they just always born in quickly early in the morning or really late at night so that everyone can attend the festival?

Just kinda curious.  I might have to wait to find out the answer when Anikira has their babies. Smiley

I'd imagine that when a new child of the gods is being born, no one wants the pharaoh to be at the festival. They probably have a whole tradition for the years when new children of the gods are born.

And has anyone noticed that the Festival of Fertility is exactly 38 weeks before the Festival of the Seven Siblings? I wonder how many tributes Tinanosa gets during the throne's childbearing years on that day. Do you think the pharaoh, king, and queen announce that that will be the year they begin making the new generation? I'm thinking yes. It's the kind of thing I can see being a nationally recognized event, the conception of the next pharaoh.

I wonder how involved Xio Voe is going to be in that. I can see him participating in some way, even if it's just to make a special offering to Tinanosa while Kudorin and Anikira are busy.

Hmmm that's is interesting that there's 38 weeks between the Festival of Fertility and the Festival of the Seven Siblings!

I wonder how you know you're pregnant.  I know they have to pray for it but does it happen kinda instantly or do they have to "try" for a while like we (generally) do.  Do they just know when they're pregnant, do they take pregancy tests, or have to go see a priest to find out if they are?  Apparently I'm pretty interested in this! lol  I can't wait until Anikira gets pregnant! It'll be so exciting! Smiley

For Anorians in general, I'd imagine that the priests of Tinanosa can tell when a woman's pregnant. As for trying, since it's soomething that's deity-influenced rather than the coincidence of several circumstances (like it is the the rest of the world), I'm guessing they might not go so long between deciding to have a baby and going through the rituals and conceiving.

For the pharaoh, however, it's probably a hole-in-one kind of thing. I can't see Kudorin's swimmers missing the target with all nineteen gods involved.

I'm looking forward to Anikira getting pregnant, but I can wait. I kinda want one of the other Siblings to have a kid first.

With Kudorin sayin he isn't going to sart with his and Anikira's family right away, I wonder who will have a child first?  I still think it will be Anikira and Kudorin, unless Orinakin and Bade have their hearts stolen by an orphan.

I was thinking about the timing: the average reign for a pharaoh seems to be about thirty years, and since the next pharaoh takes the throne at age twenty, that leaves an average of ten years between coming of age and starting a family. Kudorin has been on the throne for under five years, so there's going to be five-ish years until he and Anikira start having kids.

In that five or so years, a lot could happen with the other Sibs. For example, I can't see Remin taking a long time between marriage and adopting a child, maybe a couple years at most, and the Gold Book is likely next.

I think that is true Courtney.

Here is my question about birthdays...

Kudorin is 24.  Anorik is probably, if what Courtney says is true, is about 55.  Indication are that Anorians enjoy a long and productive life.

Where is Anosukinom Mutotanosa Situkabulanin Elanilanulanori Banotuda Kudorin A Rituliri?  Kudorin's grandma?   Thinking

She would be just 85 now, so if she had passed she would have done that not that long ago, 10 years at the most.  I don't remember much being mentioned about a Pharoh's death, just that they are healthy up to the day they die, they just pass.

That's a really good point about the grandmother - I hadn't really considered it.  Has anyone posted the question on Matthew's LJ?
