I think Rent is addictive - but I must confess that I prefer Rosario's voice to Daphne's. Has anyone seen the Rent Anniversary clips on YouTube? They are fantastic, all original cast. I wish they'd make Wicked into a movie - obviously it would have to star Idina and Kristen. Although - I've heard Eden Espinosa sing as Elphaba (again, YouTube) and she does a wonderful job. I only know one song from Jekyll & Hyde - and that's just because my all time favorite singer once performed in the role - Sebastian Bach. I also love Hairspray, although again I prefer the movie cast to the Broadway cast. OOO And Hair!! They should remake that movie. Any thoughts on that cast? Sebastian would make a great George Berger, in my opinion.

Me too. Unfortunately, I think I was too young to really appreciate the shows my parents took me to. Remind me of who Sebastian Bach played? Was he in the Broadway version, or the (IMHO) horrible movie version? Jekyll & Hyde is an awesome musical. That and Into the Woods probably rank as my favorites. Here's a question -- who do ya'll prefer, Sondheim or Lloyd Webber?

Sebastian had the lead role on Broadway. He's also done Jesus Christ Superstar. He also hung out with Chris Kirkpatrick on Gone Country 2.

My god, he is AMAZING. There's one song where he's switching back and forth between Jekyll and Hyde every five seconds, and it's utterly convincing, and I have no idea how he does it. Tell me if you want any of the other songs -- I can e-mail them to you.

Oh yes please!!! The only one I have is One Moment in Time. I have always loved Sebastian, since back in his Skid Row days. He literally made my jaw drop the first time I heard Youth Gone Wild on the radio. (email can be sent to HPWayLilacSDFGL@aol.com please)

One Moment in Time? Is that from J&H? Am I blanking on a title? Or is there a song I have not heard? Hmm... What's best to send... I'm thinking the song that Hyde sings about the joys of being eeeevil, the confrontation song when he's switching back and forth between personae and the sexy-like song between Hyde and a prostitute.

2000-, 2001-ish, I think. The original recording was 1997, and the concept recording was 1994, I think.

Yeah, I looked him up earlier. You can also find him singing "Lost in the Darkness" on youtube. He's good. Don't hate me, but I like Bob Cuccioli.

I Broadway! Whenever I am in NY I go... so I have seen a few shows. Some I LOVE (Wicked, Rent, History Boys, Blood Brothers - actually I think the last one was London) and some I liked less (Fosse - I really need a plot to watch something for that long...). My newest play addiction is Spring Awakening. It is amazing! The soundtrack is really phenomenal. There are so many many categories in Broadway - we could really break it down. Favorite Comedy Favorite Tragedy Favorite Satire Favorite Shakespeare (because he deserves it!) Favorite Overall Musical Favorite Overall Play There are probably a TON more categories like that. Anyone want to share?

Are you asking for musical comedies, tragedies and satires, or theater in general? On the last three: Shakespeare - "Othello" Favorite Overall Musical - "Jekyll & Hyde" and "Into the Woods." Can't decide. Favorite Overall Play - I've always had a strange and perverse liking for "Idiot's Delight." "An Ideal Husband," although I'll admit it's primarily because I adore the vitriol that comes from Mrs. Cheveley's mouth.

I would love to see more theatre play. The last play I've seen was "Amadeus" with Randy Harrison last 2006. I also wanted to see "Wicked" but the tickets are sold out so I went to see "Mama Mia!" and "Some Girls" instead.

Amadeus..I haven't seen the play but I have watched the movie a few times and I LOVE it. Is the play anything like the movie? Same with Mama Mia I LOVED the movie and I would love to see it on broadway.

Amadeus the movie and the play are a bit similar and I know the movie got 8 Oscars but I like the play better. I got Randy Harrison to sign my ?play book. Mama Mia is definitely better in the play. I've watched the movie but didn't get the same exhilaration I felt in the theatre.

Brian---I mean Gale Harold had some off-broadway plays but I've never seen one. I've only visited New York twice so I didn't get to see that much theatre play.

Randy also did "Equus" before Daniel Radcliffe. Gale was in "Uncle Bob", an off-broadway play with that guy from the TV Show "Oz". He also did "Suddenly Last Summer" with Blythe Danner. A lot of QAF fans went to the last one. A friend of mine came all the way from Australia just to see this play. She actually... got me an autograph.
