This year, there was only two awards I cared about - and both of them went the way I wanted them too. But why did poor Heath have to be dead to before he won?

Hugh Jackman was gorgeous as always. That number with Beyonce was dreadful though... Adrien Brody was looking a tad too unkempt for me, but Robert de Niro was . Kate Winslet is so adorable, you can't but love her. I liked Zac Efron's tuxedo. Hmm, what else? I don't like Miley Cyrus but her dress was stunning and she rocked it. Other dresses I liked: Taraji, Marisa, Anne Hathaway, Nathalie Portman. Dress I didn't like: BEYONCE!! OMG, what was she thinking?

Oh I know, I'm still so sad about Heath - but this year I managed not to cry! Since his family didn't, I didn't.
Hugh Jackman was a great host, gorgeous as always and I loved his opening number!
I have to agree with you, Falconer, Adrien Brody did not look too cute and Beyonce's dress was just awful too....
But I did just love Anne Hathaway's! Kate Winslet's dress was lovely and I was so happy for her! Her acceptance speech waws really really sweet! I loved Penelope Cruz's dress also, although I did think it looked a bit too much like a wedding dress. Amy Adams dress was really pretty too!
I do not understand why Tilda Swinton insists upon always wearing some ugly baddy sheet thrown about her shoulders all the time.
And I cannot tell you how excited I was to see Natalie Portman and Nicole Kidman there! They are my two favorite actresses of all time and they looked gorgeous!
I want to see Slumdog Millionare now and The Reader. And now I have to have to have to see Milk. It's showing at the dollar theatre just around the corner from me, so I think I'll go see it this week.
~McCartny~
**Edited because I apparently don't know the difference between Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett yet lol **

Has anyone else seen "Milk"? I want to see that one because of a book I've read, "Almost Like Being In Love" by Steve Kluger. The story of Harvey Milk was mentioned in the book and the movie looked really good.

I haven't seen Milk, but I absolutely love Almost Like Being in Love. I can even overlook the fact that the guys are a bit ... older in most of the story... Hehe. It's such a feel-good novel though, great humor, great romance.

I saw some scenes from Milk and Anita Bryant (the homophobic orange juice b*tch mentioned in the book) is in the movie, too!

You should have heard the fit I threw last year when Lance got kicked off of Dancing with the Stars. I was screaming HOMOPHOBES all over the place.

Dustin Lance Black's speech was wonderful! As well as Sean Penn's. Okay, so they took out the video from YouTube because of copyright violations but did they take out ALL Oscars videos, not just Black's?

**Edited because I apparently don't know the difference between Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett yet lol ** I love Heath - I'm glad he got the Oscar. Even though I know if he were alive they wouldn't have even of thought twice about The Dark Knight. That is part of what I hate about The Academy. And M - I am shocked! As a friend of mine and as a FAN of LotR (a Ringer as you call it)... how can you NOT know the difference between Cate and Kate. Galadriel is very cross with you. lol.

Ya know - upsetting Galadriel is probably one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. Did you not see how she reacted to Frodo poking at her?
