Where is everyone? Thinking

I just got home an could read the chapter and what a wonderful chapter it was. Floating Hearts

Naritano served his first food to Woe Voe and all was good.  Thanks Matthew for the hint to read the last bit of ITL 116.  Having Kudorin read it as Xoe Voe missing Orinakin was interesting I thought.

Rini finally was able to open up about his trip.  I imagine Kuorin left him to work it through, as a learning experience.  I am glad the Gods nudged Remin in the right direction, but then to interrupt it with a vision?   Thinking  I guess they decided that Remin would be good for Rini and Rini would be good for Remin, so it was a win win situation.

Wasn't Kudorin going and pulling the two students from school interesting?  Loved the choices Kudorin made for Remin's assistants.  It is going to be fun watching Hasano Epolemer and Mihina Rokoke interact while they do their jobs.  I guess we now know that it will not be a Priest doing this job.

Loved how Tano's mind works.  Finding out how Xoe Voe spends his time to plan food around what he does is inspired.  I can't wait to see the snacks Xoe Voe gets while he is working.

I wonder what Talin is going to design for Remin to wear on his dates.

This was a good chapter! I still want to see byplay btw Remin and Tano but seeing their individual paths is good too.  And I'm glad Rini finally got to talk about his trip.  Oh and duh, Orinakin Bade and Vade ARE gone. I somehow totally missed that, sigh.

The end, where Talin is thinking about his own path and what could be waiting for him made me alternately sad for him and hopeful, ie that he's even thinking along the lines of a future w/out Hitari. Kind of a good step yes?

Several things delighted me in this chapter. One, Naritano thought this:
Quote
He didn’t have any other hobbies.  He cooked, and he fucked, and he prayed.
How handy. Remin eats, fucks, and prays. This is like the tenth "they're perfect for each other" moment so far.

Two, when we were in Xio Voe's POV, he thought of Kudorin as Kudorin, not Anosukinom. It was lovely to see that, to see that he's getting more informal, more intimate, closing that distance. Also, Xio Voe was hanging out with the Sibs again. I love that he's integrating into the family well.

Three, Rini asking Koso to keep guys away from Naritano. I think it's adorable and thoughtful.

Four, Naritano's incredible confidence in the kitchen. Getting creative, actively trying to tailor his meal plans to Xio Voe's personality and activities, all that. He seems humble and he was nervous to begin with, but he's solidly in tune with his skills and as he satisfies Xio Voe's appetite more and more, he responds to that with even more confidence. It's a wonderful aspect of his personality.

Five, Remin's new personal secretaries:
Quote
“Yeah, I don’t think that I’m the one you want for this job,” Mihina said.  “I don’t date, period, and I don’t date men.  I don’t know anything about men, except that some of them cry like fucking babies if you stomp them in the balls.  And I don’t allow wimps like that on my team.”

“Stomp them?” Hasano whispered, going pale with horror.  “Why would you stomp them?”

“It’s a crowded field,” Mihina said dismissively.  “Accidents happen.”
Mihina's awesome. I already adore her.

Six, like Rebel, I liked Talin's ruminations on his own path. I think this was the first time he'd thought of his experience with Hitari as not only a past part of his life, but as a step on a path that wasn't yet done with him. It was very positive and healthy.

And seven, Talin designing clothes for Remin. I think we'll see things that are flattering but not too sexy, comfortable yet regal, and maybe some complicated fastenings designed to keep clothes on.

Great chapter. Very positive, very enjoyable. And Matthew, if you make the Gold Book as long as the Rainbow Book, I'm cancelling my plans to knit you something! LOL

I agree with everything Courtney said.  Lots of 'yay' moments in this chatper.

Not least of which is the realization that, yes, gold book, people, yes, it wasn't just a tease!  What, that excites me.

I love the way XV is reacting to Tano's food.  He loves it and he will make sure that Tano knows it.

Rini  Red Love Red Love Red Love.  Rini is my second favorite brother and I still think that T'rin is the one for him, but something someone said about Ritek sticks here... we haven't gotten anything from T'rin's point of view.   Sad Head Shake So technically, T'rin is not Rini's One, but he should be because Rini's in love with him and... he loves him, Matthew!  Sad Stare Sad Stare Sad Stare

History wasn’t a series of individual events, but a rich story where each plot affected the others.

I had a thought: now that Remin is loosening up a bit, do you think he'll finally make out with Bade? I think he should. He hasn't kissed anyone in years and I think the first should be, if not Tano, Bade. Then Vade could hate Bade for getting to make out with Remin and we can all think "Well, Vade, marry Selorin and you, too, can make out with the sexy royal high priest."  Smiley

I most certainly hope so Courtney.  I know I'd be right in there thinking that.
