Several things delighted me in this chapter. One, Naritano thought this:
He didn’t have any other hobbies. He cooked, and he fucked, and he prayed.
How handy. Remin eats, fucks, and prays. This is like the tenth "they're perfect for each other" moment so far.
Two, when we were in Xio Voe's POV, he thought of Kudorin as Kudorin, not Anosukinom. It was lovely to see that, to see that he's getting more informal, more intimate, closing that distance. Also, Xio Voe was hanging out with the Sibs again. I love that he's integrating into the family well.
Three, Rini asking Koso to keep guys away from Naritano. I think it's adorable and thoughtful.
Four, Naritano's incredible confidence in the kitchen. Getting creative, actively trying to tailor his meal plans to Xio Voe's personality and activities, all that. He seems humble and he was nervous to begin with, but he's solidly in tune with his skills and as he satisfies Xio Voe's appetite more and more, he responds to that with even more confidence. It's a wonderful aspect of his personality.
Five, Remin's new personal secretaries:
“Yeah, I don’t think that I’m the one you want for this job,” Mihina said. “I don’t date, period, and I don’t date men. I don’t know anything about men, except that some of them cry like fucking babies if you stomp them in the balls. And I don’t allow wimps like that on my team.”
“Stomp them?” Hasano whispered, going pale with horror. “Why would you stomp them?”
“It’s a crowded field,” Mihina said dismissively. “Accidents happen.”
Mihina's awesome. I already adore her.
Six, like Rebel, I liked Talin's ruminations on his own path. I think this was the first time he'd thought of his experience with Hitari as not only a past part of his life, but as a step on a path that wasn't yet done with him. It was very positive and healthy.
And seven, Talin designing clothes for Remin. I think we'll see things that are flattering but not too sexy, comfortable yet regal, and maybe some complicated fastenings designed to keep clothes on.
Great chapter. Very positive, very enjoyable. And Matthew, if you make the Gold Book as long as the Rainbow Book, I'm cancelling my plans to knit you something! LOL
