Yet another great chapter. My favorite part was when Remin joined Xio Voe and Kudorin for dessert. And how Desin just walked in and started eating Xio Voe's fruit. How people interact over food shows a lot about their relationship and Xio Voe's sharing of his meal, both intentionally and unintentionally, with his brothers-in-law is so fun to see. I loved this:
“It’s Jacacean,” Kudorin explained. “It was a traditional Euguaen dish, very rich and much heavier, but over time it’s been changed to suit mainstream Jacacean tastes.”
“It’s dessert,” Remin protested, aghast. “The richer and heavier, the better.” Fuck, this was good. “We don’t need a Jacacean chef, we need a Nosupolin chef.” He could just imagine having Nosupolin cuisine, every day, every meal. The butter, the creamy milk, the cheese…
“Remin, are you getting aroused?” Kudorin asked.
Yes, and who could blame him? Licking his fork, he asked, “Was this chef hired solely for you or can he feed the rest of us, too?”
Oh, Remin, you have NO idea...
Also, this was adorable:
“Oh, he’s just here to talk about himself,” Kudorin said dismissively. “We could be talking about much more interesting things.”
“Such as you?” Remin suggested.
“Well.” Kudorin grinned. “I can set clouds on fire, you know.”
If I had any ability whatsoever with making banners, I'd make a cloud-on-fire one.
The threesome with Adu, Ritek, and Anosanim was hot. Very cool for the first time Anosanim and Ritek played with a bela. I'm rather enjoying their scenes together, which is kind of bittersweet considering I'm not expecting Ritek to be around much longer.
