Another awesome chapter! The it's-not-a-date date to the museum. I love seeing this much progress in Remin and Tano's relationship in such a short time. It's so exciting. And Orinakin and Bade are almost home! Yay! Here are some of my favorite TanoRe parts:

Quote
There was a moment of silence as everyone absorbed and ruminated.  Remin felt Ilanosa’s presence and almost instinctively glanced around the room, wondering if there were a budding romance nearby.
This cracked me up. One day, Remin will look back and think to himself "Man, I really was dense." He's so focused on everyone else that he doesn't even think to apply something like that to himself. I don't think he realizes how significant his friendship with Tano is.

Quote
“Ah, Tano,” Remin murmured, and hugged him.  “If I didn’t have the gods to keep me honest, I would still have you to keep my feet on the right path.”
Le sigh... And the Kudorin going to Desin for a hug because he just had to hug somebody was adorable.

Quote
“Tano.”  Prince Remin’s smooth, authoritative, marvelously sexy voice was low and amused.  “People are staring.”

“People watch you wherever you go.  You must be used to it.”

“True.”  Prince Remin conceded the point with a note of amusement in his voice.  One hand rose from Naritano’s shoulder and-

            -oh, ah, oh-

-Prince Remin’s fingers ran lightly through Naritano’s hair, just above his nape, fingertips brushing his scalp-

-and Naritano shuddered with lust, barely biting back a groan, gasping softly and pulling away, needing to back up, needing to turn aside and inhale and not come in his pants, oh, gods above-

            -gods above-

-and Prince Remin chuckled, turning away.  “Come, Tano.  I want to show you the display on what our ancestors ate.”
How remarkable was that? I found it astounding on a several levels. One, it was very public. Two, it was very intimate. Three, Remin did it with no anxiety, no trepidation about taking a man into his arms, no uncertainty about Naritano. Four, Remin obviously knew the effect he had on Tano and he welcomed it, enjoyed it. And five, he didn't make an excuse to part from Tano's company to recover. He just let the moment be the lovely moment it was and continued showing his friend around the museum. How extraordinary!

And this was wicked hot:
Quote
He heard the gentle, encouraging tones of Prince Remin’s beautifully manipulative voice in quiet greeting to someone, polite conversation, a warm blessing.  Then, quietly, masterfully, “Come, Tano.”  And, helplessly, Naritano obeyed.
*delighted shiver*

I also enjoyed Selorin's impromptu boyfriend selection and Desin's wrestling match. Orinakin and Bade's moment on the balloon was lovely, too, but I feel bad that Orinakin is so deeply affected by missing parts of his brothers' lives. It makes me think, though, that his and Bade's arrival will coincide with much more rapid, line-crossing progress in Remin and Tano's relationship. I don't think that the gods would let Orinakin and Remin be apart during such a significant development. Orinakin was home for Talin's engagement and betrayal, home for Kudorin and Xio Voe's courtship, and he was even there when Anosanim and Ritek got together.

It was a warm fuzzy chapter. Pink Heart  Adore  I love it when all things are going well.  BUT it makes me worry.  Angst is part of the story and after that amazing hug I hope Naritano's body isn't going to, as Xio Voe calls it *cough* Nocturnal Emmision *cough.  If he is going to go through the pain of not being able to cook, Tano should  get some sex with it.

I am intriugued by the policeman.  And the  Hug  KudorinDesin shared was truly fun.  It's lovely that  Selorin has a new boyfriend for when  Orinakin and Bade make it home.  It's always healthy and good for a few comments from Vade.

Dancey  Orinakin and Bade are almost home.  My Heartbroken for  Orinakin missing out on important things happening in  Remin life.

And now that I am reading the hug while I have some sleep under my belt, as CL Pointed out this part:

-and Naritano shuddered with lust, barely biting back a groan, gasping softly and pulling away, needing to back up, needing to turn aside and inhale and not come in his pants, oh, gods above-

            -gods above-

-and Prince Remin chuckled, turning away.  “Come, Tano.  I want to show you the display on what our ancestors ate"

She forgot the last part

It didn't occur to me that Tano may have come in his pants, but I wan thinking that
Quote

was very possibly an intentional double entendre on Remin's part and definitely a suggestion of what things will be like for Remin and Tano's sex life.

And when it comes to angst, I agree that there may be some for Tano as a result of what happened. I also think that angst for both of them will be happening more now that their relationship has moved into the realm of the physical.

*warning: opinionated analysis coming up*

You know, in my reread of ITL, I'm nearing the end of the Rainbow Book and it occured to me that each book has had very different conflicts for each couple. Orinakin and Bade had small internal conflicts relating to the fact that Bade was courting Kudorin, but in the overall scope of the Purple Book, the main conflicts were external. They fell in love very easily, ther sexuality meshed right away, and it was immediately evident that they were it for each other. They fought that for a little while, so there was some internal conflict there, but they got over it in Satatunin. The most serious thing keeping them apart came from without (Mindo having to give his permission), which meant that it was Bade and Orinakin vs The World when it came down to it.

The conflicts in the Rainbow Book were more complicated, but the biggest thing that had to happen in order for Kudorin and Xio Voe to be together was that Xio Voe had to not only fall in love with Kudorin, but he had to learn how to feel it. The conflict was very internal, a lot of Kudorin vs Xio Voe, with Kudorin fighting against Xio Voe's upbringing, his coldness, his absolute repression of emotion. The external conflict, Xio Sei having to agree, was minor in comparison to Xio Voe's transformation from automaton to human.

Remin and Tano's conflicts so far seem to be internal, but not Remin vs Tano. It's more like Remin vs Remin and Tano vs Tano. Remin has to get past his issues with opening himself up, something that is so far happening very naturally, and his fear of disgracing the office of royal high priest, disgracing the throne, and betraying his vows, which will be a lot more difficult. Tano has to get past his self-confidence issues and his "when I come, I can't cook" problem, which I think may be related. I'm looking forward to seeing if other, unexpected conflicts crop up.

I think your opinionated analysis is spot on CL.

You can't forget the angst that was Hitari and Talin during the Purple Book and the Rainbow Book.  We are still dealing with the fall out of that one.  Thank goodness that Xio Voe reinspired Talin when he saw him and Kudorin having sex.

How far are you now CL?  I am just before the wedding.  It is Xio Voe and everyones BD.  Bade had the dick of a horse and can`t come. Giggle

LOL Mountie, I just passed the same spot! I had almost forgotten about Bade's size incident. Bad, Rini, bad!  Rolling on the Floor Laughing  I don't know if I want to read all the way up to now or to stop at the end of the Rainbow Book, which is at 216-217. It'd be nice to see how Matthew has been pacing Remin and Tano's story, but I don't want to be frustrated when I get to 239 and have to stop.

Oh my God.

If I could scream, I really would.  But I can't, because I saw Nick Carter in concert this weekend and at a TV show this morning and I have no voice with which to make a sound.  So I'm just flaying my arms wildly and bouncing in my chair.

THEY'RE FALLING IN LOVE!

It is sweet to see how relaxed Remin is becoming around Tano. How he feels comfortable in letting down his guard and just being himself. How much he is just relishing having a male friend. Red Love

I think the really angst may come up as we learn the true nature of Tano's problem. What first triggered it, when it first started and his struggle in letting go of whatever the root problem is. Deep seated psychological beliefs can be difficult to overcome. And right now for what ever reason, Naritano believes that if he has sex he can't cook. Thinking
