Has anyone tried to figure out the number system?  Hmmm From what I understand, numbers are formed by combining different syllables that stand for numbers from 0 to 9 (and maybe "hundred").

Here's what I got:

Ritu = 1 + hundred
Hi = 9
Li = 8
Di = 7
Ni = 6
Bi = 5
Ki = 4
Mi = 3
Ti = 2
Ri = 1
Si = 0

So Kudorin's name is Rituliti. Ritu = 100. Li = 8. Ti = 2. So he's number 182.
Remin is Hiti, which is 9 and 2, so he's number 92. And so on.

I'm not sure about Ritu, but I think it might in fact be two "words": ri which is 1, and "tu" which is the equivalent of "hundred". So ri+tu = one hundred. And ti+tu = two hundred and mitu, kitu, bitu, etc.

So, Anosakim Inanosat Selorin A Ritusiti is number one hundred (ritu), 0 (si) and 2 (ti), which is 102.

You won't believe how proud of myself I was the day I could rattle off "ri ti mi ki bi ni di li hi si" without cheating.

I'm not even going to hazard a guess as to how Matthew managed to figure all that out.  Because I sure as heck can't, lol.  I know numbers in 5 languages.. I think it works.  Then again, my German's not good enough but still.

If you go to the main ITL page where chatper links are and scroll down past the shorts, there's a list of links. The first, Rini's introduction to OA, is a single page, but the links below it are all on the same page, including "Fun Facts", which has the number system, among other things. I love the info page, especially the Anorian calendar.  Cheesy

I actually have the info pages printed out so I can refer to them when I'm not online.
