First, congrats on your new publication!! <-- is excited. Could you post the blurb or tell us roughly what it is about? Is Paradise a hotel or a resort? (or is it really like Paradise, lol. Don't mind that.) An affair in Paradise...

From my LiveJournal:
For those of you who want to know what the story's about before you buy it, here you go! I wasn't sure how much information to include (don't want to give away all of the good stuff) so I settled on this:
"Affair in Paradise" is the story of Adam, whose friend Stacy has dragged him along on a tropical vacation, where he meets Brett. Brett is friendly, hot, and recently single. When Brett won't respond to Adam's advances, Adam sets him up for a night of seduction. In their tropical paradise, will Brett finally make this a vacation to remember?

Master? See, I knew that would get you. I thought of you specifically while I considered whether or not to mention the BDSM elements of the story. The thing is, there are BDSM "elements," and that's about it. There's no sadism or masochism. It's really about submission, and what it means to submit, and reacting to that, etc. Anyone who prefers heavy BDSM and picked up "Affair in Paradise" would be disappointed, I think. Not in the way that the elements are handled, but just in that it's not very hard-core. I think that it's light enough, or treated calmly enough, for non-BDSM readers to be fine. Then again, my perspective is different from others', and I'd like to hear other folks' thoughts on the subject. I'm not trying to downplay the BDSM; I just don't want to claim that more is there than is actually present. Have you read it, or did the master scare you away? -Matthew

See, I knew that would get you. I thought of you specifically while I considered whether or not to mention the BDSM elements of the story. Uh-oh. Am I that predictable? I'll admit, I did think: "Why didn't Matthew mention this?" when I read the Torquere blurb. But I understand why you didn't, as it would have spoiled the story. Have you read it, or did the master scare you away? It scared me away... You know, I can handle some light bondage and dom/sub, but the master thing? It seemed a bit extreme. I read started to read a story that sounds similar to this one, about this guy who "was looking for a master", and well, not my cup of tea at all. But since you said it was not hardcore, I'll give it a try.

started to read a story that sounds similar to this one, about this guy who "was looking for a master" He's not looking for one. When he meets Adam, he sees that Adam could be one/is one for him, but there's no hint whatsoever that he's looking for one. In fact, he's freshly out of a relationship, so it seems more like he's not looking for one. But since you said it was not hardcore, I'll give it a try. Thanks for trying it! It's not hardcore at all. -Matthew

Matthew, that was hot!!! And it was such a nice surprise! I think Liz and I have talked about our for BDSM somewhere in the forum. If I know the author, I usually don't read the back cover on what it's about. So I just clicked "buy" the minute I saw the title "Affair In Paradise", paid for it, downloaded it and read it. I'm glad I didn't read what it's about because that really was a nice surprise. The BDSM aspect is just right. A little heavier and it probably wouldn't look right considering Adam. Have no fear, Falconer! Go ahead and read it!

I don't think we have Ana - but I now know that you share my kink. lol I think the fact that one of the lead characters was named Adam added to it for me, considering my current obsession with Adam Lambert.

I can't get Adam Lambert out of my head while reading Affair in Paradise! A great book introduced me to BDSM so now, yeah, it's one of my fave things to read. Even though Matthew touched on it lightly, what he wrote really is the essence of BDSM anyway: that it's not about the enduring pain or inflicting pain, it's about totally giving up control or having total control. I wanted to keep on reading Affair in Paradise. I want to know what happens next. I want to know more about Derek and what the fight was about. I want to know how Adam will get himself familiarized with the new kink. I want more play and sex! It is just a short story but it reels you in quickly. I finished reading with a big, happy, sigh. Matthew, is there a possible sequel? Or is this just a one-shot?

What Ana really really wants to know is: When we'll be seeing Remin in a similar situation? What? Nooo, I'm not putting my words into Ana's mouth. Whatever made you all insinuate such a thing!
