Diamond - soon, I'll ask you what you used in PSP to make the colorful cloth. Because it's been baffling me!! Unless you used a completely different program I'm not familiar with and I'll get confused.
Vani
I love to talk about graphics! First and foremost, I never use PhotoShop. I know how, I understand it, and I hate it. I use PaintShopPro, so all my information will be about PaintShop but you can apply it to PhotoShop. The principles are still the same. I took this picture and used the trailing end of the dress. Then I used the 'Change to Target' tool to colorize the fabric with a rainbow gradient. When there were longer sections to make, I cut and pasted different parts of the dress, flipped them in different directions, blended them together, and shortened or lengthened some of the tendrils to look like one long piece of cloth. Then I added the color. Like my avatar. The trick is zooming in really close while editing things together to make it look like one piece. Ask me anything else you want to know. Diamond

I emphatically recommend that anyone who's interested in graphics talk to Diamond. Either right here in this thread or in private messages. She has a terrific eye, she learns and grows rapidly, and she does this stuff every single day so she's always getting better. She's always happy to help anyone or to share what she's learned.
Yes, I'm immensely biased, but she's genuinely awesome, and she's always happy to help.

Ten cheers for Diamond!!
Hip hip hooray!!!!!!!!! Hip hip hooray!!!!!!!!! Hip hip hooray!!!!!!!!! Hip hip hooray!!!!!!!!! Hip hip hooray!!!!!!!!! Hip hip hooray!!!!!!!!! Hip hip hooray!!!!!!!!! Hip hip hooray!!!!!!!!! Hip hip hooray!!!!!!!!! Hip hip hooray!!!!!!!!!
Thanks! I'm sure I'll be trying it as soon as I get back from holiday with my newly bought copy of Paint Shop Pro (I just have the free trial version now). I was afraid that you'd actually drawn the cloth, in which case I would have been completely and utterly lost (I can't draw a straight line with a ruler). Your way's much simpler .
'Change to target' tool... ok, I'll look at that when I get back, because if I start on this now, I'll miss my flight!
Must go shopping, cause I have no food in the house for when I come back... or... I do have some food... oh, never mind, I have soup and I'll bring back some mac n cheese (can you believe we have no mac n cheese in Switzerland?!).
Diamond's going to be my new best friend . I'm sure I'll be coming to you a lot for tips, and poor Liz will be my guinea pig for graphics. And she refuses to look at my 'Sucker' banners, so I have to wing it there.
Wheee!!!

I would like to ask just how long it took for Diamond and Vani to get that adept with creating graphics.

I am thinking about purchasing that software that allows you to make all the nice graphics that I see floating around on this message board. Which one am I supposed to purchase?
Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 Ultimate Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 PAINT SHOP PRO V7.0
I was in the office supply store and it was all the forest and the trees to me. Which is the best?

Hi, Lehleti,
I have Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 Ultimate (try saying that 10 times fast). It's really good
Vani Okay, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo it is. Is that what you used to make that beautiful green Desin banner? Lovely shade of green, by the way!
