How does it work, especially for Kudorin? I'm sure that for the princes' belams, some of them just all headed over to the bela training school, spent a day getting their minds blown and getting to know everyone, then had some damn tough choices to make. When did they do that?
I'd really like to know when Kudorin chose his belas. If it was before he ascended, how would he know if and how his needs/desires would change when he became the living god among us? And if it was after his ascension, he couldn't have touched them unless they'd gone through the rituals and they wouldn't have done that unless they'd been chosen for the pharaoh's belams. So did he use his divine knowledge to choose? Did Anikira help? Could she have? I guess that would depend on timing. Since Anikira prefers women, I'd imagine that Kudorin would want her input when it came to their female belas.
Also, with the princes' belas, they have an age spread that would make the older ones old enough to consort with belas while the younger ones were too young, so how do they choose belas that would be good for all the siblings without knowing the tastes/habits of Desin, the fire twins, and Rini? We saw in Pass the Hour that Remin was with the sulatim when he was 19, which meant that Rini was only 15 and probably not allowed in the belams yet. Come to think of it, how old do you have to be to get belam priviledges?
I'd also love to know how long a bela typically remains in service to the current generation. How many will stay until the next generation begins to ascend? When and how does the changeover happen? If one of the pharaoh's belas decided to leave the belam before the pharoah descends from the throne, can they still touch him/her?
These are the things I wonder about while waiting between chapters.
