I really enjoyed The Bridge.  I thought it was a sweet, if somewhat annoying, tale.

I don't know who made me more annoyed, the merchant taking advantage of them or the runner who went out of his way to be unhelpful!

I love reading all of these short stories that intertwine with ITL, even when it's just a supplemental morality story with no main or side charcters in it.

I really liked getting to read this, I also loved the story about the man and woman in Nosupolis that dreamed of each other and traveled the country to find each other (it was several chapters back, I can't remember when-sorry!).  It was so romantic!  Floating Hearts

Am I the only one itching to get their hands on Matthew's notes for this series?  The WORLD that man is building inside his head!  He really is on level with Tolkein.

I liked this story, too. It's remarkable what is taking shape inside Matthew's head. Again, I repeat: I want to live in his brain!

The Nosupoln story was about Tregh and Dormro and Bade tells it in part 150 after Orinakin kisses Xio Voe for Kudorin. I love that story.  Red Heart

Hmmm I don't rightly know what to think about "The Bridge".  It's a good story with good morals, it's just that I was getting really frustrated with these people... especially that woman who built her bridge then cut it down, I mean... wtf?!  It drove me nuts.

I liked the ending, though.

It might be a good metaphor for what's going to happen with Jacacea. For so long they've been the only ones to use the bridges they've built, intentionally looking out for only their own interests. With Kudorin's marriage to Xio Voe, they'll finally start sharing stones.

I didn't even think of that Courtney.  But that's a freaking brilliant thought.

I agree with Liz, that's an excellent way of looking at it!
