Bade sighed.  He did love trying all of these new dishes, and Anorian cooking was delicious, but he couldn’t wait to go back home for some haggis.

*gags*

Ew, haggis.

What?!?!

Quote
“Kei is still a boy,” Hucia said, turning to meet his gaze.  “Sei will pass along soon, and Kei will be thrust into his new role.  He is young, and he lacks experience.  He will learn, and he will do well.  But you must be kind to him at first.  He idolizes our child.  He will throw himself into his role and do everything that he possibly can to live up to our child.  But it will take some time.”

Someone please tell me I'm misunderstanding that.

I noticed before that there were signs pointing to the fact that Emperor Xio Sei will be passing soon.  I had an inkling of it when Xio Voe's brother and sister recounted the prophetic dreams they'd had, because the dreams didn't appear to be too far into the future.

What worries me slightly here is Vade's little tryst with the Jacacean student.  Xio Voe was particular when talking about sheaths, and from what I read, there were none used, so I'm wondering what will come of it.  Because if Vade gets anything.... oy vey, King Mindo will do his nut.

Now... eating... snake?!  That's against my principles.  Squid... I've eaten calamari, so I don't suppose that squid would be much different but... *shudder*.  Lobster, no problem at all.  Haggis... I'd run the heck away.  Tongues and brains... likewise.  I wouldn't make a good diplomat, though I *have* tried to eat tomatoes to please my host (didn't work, though, apparently I turned ghostly white, and I remember nearly being sick the second the bit of tomato was in my mouth).

Was anyone else really happy about finally seeing Anosukinom talk at length with another god?  I found it nifty!

I just finished.  Loved it!  Happy Hands

Wow  Orinakin and the Emporer are almost ready to put things down in writing!  I was worried that this aspect would drag on and on.  I can't wait till the marriage happens.  I wonder how many months that this will take to set up since it will be Kudorin and Xio Voe and how important this is.  I wonder if they will have a small private ceremony right away then a bigger more formal one later?  I can't see either  Kudorin or Xio Voe allowing the preparations to drag on much at all.

CourtneyLee pointed out in the last chapter discussion about the door's restriction of not allowing Xio Voe to pass beyond the Palace so hence I was surprised when they were able to make it to the restuarant.  I wonder if tis restriction will come into effect when Xio Voe and  Kudorin are married or when Xio Voe becomes Emporer. Thinking

YEAH!  Vade has a story to tell Selorin.  Do you think he will include the fact that he and Xaile discussed political history while they were  Cute Hug ?  And Vani you are so right...

I agree...Vade disappointed me this chapter he such a intelligent young man but made a very stupid decision by not "protecting" himself. I hope  Selorin kicks his ass  Boxing and I hope he turns out safe I wouldn't want anything to happen to Vade  Sad Head Shake

Sadly, telling someone to use a sheath and but providing them one to use usually results in them... not using it.  Sad  Not the Xio Voe had one nearby or one that would fit.

I loved the conversation as well between  Kudorin and Hucia, the Soracic goddess of change.  I agree Vani it was very nifty, and enlightening.

Courtney translates parts of ITL 163:

Quote from: Xio Voe's POV
He didn’t like being so far from Anosukinom.  It displeased him.
Wah, I miss my twue wuv!

Quote from: Xio Voe
“I apologize for my part in holding our relationship back.  I should have fallen in love with you much faster.”
I was an ass. Forgive me?

Quote from: Kudorin
"You love me now, and that’s what matters."
To err is human, to forgive is divine. Good thing I'm divine because yes, you were an ass. But I'm too in love with you to actually think that.

Quote from: Orinakin
“He’s opening up intimacy between us.  He’s including me in the personal, casual friendship he shares with the two of you.  I can’t reject him in that.”
I'd really rather stay in and fuck your brains out, though.

Quote from: Bonipano
“Akata won’t be able to play dress-up with you tonight.  She’s going to the festival in Nerimopin with a couple of new friends.  She wants me to let you know that she’s sorry and she’ll make it up to you.”
Being fired from any artist's dream job was lost on her. She's still a flake.

Quote from: Xio Voe
“He is broadly considered a fun and engaging young man.  His company is much sought after.  As a responsible host,” Xio Voe added, “I would urge you to sheathe your sword.”
He's the village bicycle: everybody's had a ride. Avoid the clap, dude. No glove, no love.

Like that? I was watching Wayne's World the other day and seeing Micke Meyers got me thinking about various Austin Powers movies. The village bicycle line is from the first one.  Cheesy

I really hope Vade doesn't catch anything. Maybe we'll see him panicking, then Mr. Hot Jacacean Slut will reassure him that he used one. My fingers are crossed.

Oh, I don't think that people will allow them to get married that quickly.  Do you really believe that Anosanim will let his older brother get married without every beautiful thing around?  The preparations for Bade and Orinakin's wedding took a while.  Imagine how long these will take, because it's the Pharaoh of Orina Anoris and the Heir to the Jacacean Empire who are getting married... it'll be a grandiose affair.  And I'm sure Matthew has already written it and refuses to share with us!!!!!!

And don't forget, there will also be the ceremony to perform with which Xio Voe will finally get to touch Kudorin.  That sentence made absolutely no sense, but you know what I mean Smiley

I know that  Orinakin and Bade had to wait for 2 months from the engagement to the wedding.  And yes,  Anosanim and Ankira will want to make sure everything is perfect.  Plus add  Kudorin `s parents, to the mix?  They haven`t even been formally told that  Kudorin has met his husband.   Orinakin just mentioned he wasn`t looking forward to the news being broken to them.  We will be lucky if it is 6 months.  Xio Voe is going to be a basket case by the time he finally gets to touch  Kudorin.  I remember how Ankira mentioned how frustrated she was after  Kudorin ascended and before they got married when she couldn`t touch him.

I can't wait to see how all of that unfolds.  It'll be really interesting to see what the ceremonies are like, not to mention the world's reaction to such an alliance.

Imagine what would happen if Emperor Xio Sei were to keep Xio Voe in Jacacea before the wedding!  Both him and Kudorin would go insane!

Matthew, Matthew, look at what you're doing to all of us...

That was my concern as well, that Emporer Sei would continue to deny Xio Voe access to Orinia Anoris through the door till Voe was married.   King Minas seems so benevolent now, in my eyes, when before Bade and  Orinakin `s wedding him requiring Bade not sleep with  Orinakin was dictatorial.

You know, I completely read that "sheath your sword" comment as Voe telling him to get laid, not telling him to wrap it up when he did.  I'm slow.  Or just not used to Xio Voe using any kind of euphemism instead of just baldly saying things.

Well, that's how I understood it.

I think that Vade needed a little reminder about the fact that he's not in Orina Anoris where he can sleep with everyone without having to worry about any disease.  Because from what I gathered, that student sleeps around and might have caused some damage in his day.

Anyway, must do some shopping now.

It was Xio Voe's use of the word "sheath" that caught my eye. It's the word they use for condom, plus Xio Voe had just said that the guy was a playboy. I agree with Vani, the dude is probably known for leaving unpleasant reminders.

I wonder what STDs are floating around Jacacea.  Thinking

I have no idea, but I have the sneaky feeling that we're going to find out.  It'll probably be something minor to irritate the hell out of Vade (cause Matthew promised we wouldn't get nasty surprises) and teach him a lesson or two about keeping himself safe when not in Orina Anoris.
