Quote
Tipping his head back, Orinakin looked upward with a warm sigh.  “I was just thinking about the Maiden and the Wanderer.  About how I thought that we’d live out their story, but here you are, wandering with me, right at my side.”

Looking at Orinakin’s beautiful, beloved face, Bade couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.  Couldn’t stomach the idea of being anywhere else.  Anywhere but with Orinakin.

 Red Heart Red Heart

Quote
Upon Xio Voe’s initial return, Xio Sei had been uncertain, suspicious, trying on several theories to see which fit best.  But now he heard some echoes of his own thoughts in the spies and physicist’s voices.  And he was ashamed, to have been so ignorant, so foolish, so short-sighted.

He was proud to leave Xio Voe as his legacy.  A man no one could accuse of being any of those things.

Those seem to be a few of the absolutes in the Chapter blondiechic0

I am filled with more questions than answers though. Thinking

Who came to see Hitari?  Who was Ritek meeting?  Why did he deceive  Anosanim?  Was Talin in on the deception?  Is this the beginning of the end?

How will the thoughts of Emperor Xio Sei, upon seeing what his spies and physics team said, alter the course of Xio Voe and  Kudorin progression to their engagement and marriage?

T'rin and  Extra 's relationship is proressing nicely.  Is Rini the Gods gift to the word or is he the Gods gift to the plains ans this is the country that appears to need the most assistance to bring them up to the modern times.  They are intelligent people but still locked into a hunter gatherer society.  The most basic of all the societies we have met so far.

I can answer a couple of those questions.  #1 - Rini is the Gods' gift to the world.  #2 - It was Selorin that went to see Hitari.

I can answer a couple of those questions.  #1 - Rini is the Gods' gift to the world.

I understand Rhini is God's gift to the world and I guess in the future there may be other places that need him as much as the People of the Plains do, if not more, right now.  However it sure does seem that he can accomplish so much on the Plains that I was wondering if this aspect of Rhini's life, being with the People of the plains was a major reason for him being gifted to the world.

#2 - It was Selorin that went to see Hitari.

Quote
Selorin said, “Lo Samora.  Come.  Someone is here to speak with you.”

Seated on his bed, turning away from the corner, Hitari met Selorin’s eyes.  His smile was hollow.  “My patron,” he said, as if the idea amused him.

This suggested to me that there was someone else with Selorin, or that Selorin was acting as an intermediary for another person.  Thinking

This:
Quote
“I’m sorry for the deception,” Ritek said, tenderly tucking his hair behind his ear, gazing into his eyes as if he were all that mattered in the world.  “I’ve been trying to meet with someone, and today was the only day that he could see me.  I hated to leave you on a festival day.”

made me think it was Ritek.

Hmmm That's an excellent point.  I'm gonna have to agree with Blondie that its probably Ritek - which makes me wonder WHY he wanted to see Hitari.

That is what I was thinking too.  I was wondering why festival day was the only day that Hitari was "available" but it must have been the only day that Selorin was available.  And what could they have been discussing the three of them.  I can't come up with a reason  Thinking but obviously Matthew has.

WHY IS EVERYONE BUT BADE HAVING ORGASMS?Huh?   Cry

I'm obssessed. Logically I know that Bade and Orinakin have to have had sex since getting to Jacacea, but I wanna see it.  Embarrassed

I do agree that it seems Ritek went to see Hitari. As his patron, though? I have no idea what Hitari could to for Ritek from prison. I don't think it's anything bad because Selorin wouldn't be involved in it.  Thinking

I'm worried about Rini. I don't want him to go to the Plains because he is the epitome of everything Anorian and I can't imagine the gods making his fate be anywhere but in Orina Anoris, but T'rin will have to leave eventually and Rini's heart will suffer. Even during his visit to the Plains, Rini won't be able to be as he is with T'rin in OA.  Sad Stare

Maybe this relationship is more about Rini growing up and taking on his responsibilities as a Sibling.   Since he will not "ascend" and he doesn't have a wealth of predescessor knowledge to use he is most like us humans and has to obtain all the experiences on his own.  Hence his life needs to be rich with both happy and painful experiences to ensure he is well rounded.  T'rin will both give him confidence (not that he needs any extra) and the experiences on the Plains will help with cementing what his role will be on a larger scale.

*apologizes profusely to Matthew*  I swear, it's funny... it's like Bade forgetting about the Odanoru festival.  I completely forgot about this...

What's up with Ritek?  I'm still reading now, but Desin is right... who does business during the Odanoru festival??

Quote
Desin didn’t know anything about being in a relationship

Maybe not, but I'm thinking he has plenty of ideas about Ritek!

See??  Nobody's heard about a fire!!!!!!  Not even Akanoti!!!  Funny, I just made a banner for Akanoti =)

*raises hand threateningly* if he DARES hurt my Anosanim I swear he's gonna.............

*SUPERSONIC SQUEAL*

LOOK!  LOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!  *LOOK*!!!!

Quote
And he was ashamed, to have been so ignorant, so foolish, so short-sighted.

He was proud to leave Xio Voe as his legacy.  A man no one could accuse of being any of those things.

lookie!!!!

Anoha Odanoru *makes the sign to the gods*  I love moons. =)

lmao.... Rini hopes he doesn't look boring... as if he could ever look boring...

Quote
“We’re dressed as the moon figures from T’rin’s culture,” or something, but he never did.  He just didn’t have the heart not to elaborate.

Oh, Rini!!!!!  Red Heart Red Heart Red Heart Red Heart

T'rin!!!!!!  Red Heart Red Heart Red Heart Red Heart Red Heart Red Heart Would you look at that!  A picnic in the monlight!

And this phrase just explains everything:

Quote
“You must do nothing but let the moonlight shine on you.”

Why is it that reading about Rini and T'rin's tryst in the stables had me thinking suddenly about werewolves?!

And I don't care how ridiculously romantic Ritek was showing up in time for the moon crossing, I STILL DON'T TRUST HIM!!!

I just posted this in the BSB fan club chat: 'Every week, Matthew updates ITL.  And every week, he leaves me hungering for more!!'.

Amazing chapter, Matthew.  But please warn us if Anosanim is going to get his heart broken, cause I wanna know when Talin will throttle whoever dared to hurt him.

And what happened between Selorin and Hitari?  *burrows into Matthew's brain*

I KNOW!  I was so proud of Emperor Sei right then and when he revealed he was ashamed that he had the same doubts as the Jacaceans that were reporting to him I CHEERED!

If it was Ritek and  Selorin is in on it why would he ( Selorin ) keep it from  Anosanim and why would  Selorin let Ritek lie to  Anosanim about being out of town and the fire? Unless  Selorin doesn't no Ritek told him that, maybe he was out of town to obtain info and returned Thinking maybe he is helping on the trial Thinking maybe there's some good news for Hitari Pray I know I'm most likely the only one that would love to see Hitari get help and change I think deep down he's a good guy and he really does truly love  Talin  and I will have hope and faith in him until he totally proves to me other wise.  Wink Maybe it is good news for Hitari and Ritek and  Selorin want to surprise  Anosanim  I know alot of maybe in there  Dunno  All I know is I can't wait for the trial I'm really looking forward to it.

I can't wait for the trial either.  First of all, I want to see how Selorin is going to handle this, and second I want to see the outcome of it.

And while I'm almost certain that Talin and Hitari will never get back together (Kudorin implied it more than once), I do want to see a good outcome from this... or at least positive.  Hitari could grow and mature in jail, seeing as the Anorian jails aren't as ghastly as the ones we would be used to...

I love seeing all of the sibs acting in their professional capacity and we haven't seen Selorin in a courtroom since Bade was still courting Kudorin, so it will be great to see that. I also keep remembering that Kudorin implied Hitari would find love in prison, which I think would be cool. He has to get over Talin first, though, and I doubt that he is.

I'm not so sure that Hitari really loved Talin, though.  I mean, he did, but some part of him musn't have, or he would have never done what he did.  I don't know about you, but if my boyfriend were part of the government, hell... a royal family, I'd never do anything to jeopardize the country, at least not willingly, and Hitari knew that what he was doing was treason.

I don't know, I find it hard to forgive this level of betrayal.  I feel somewhat bad for Hitari, but I feel even worse for Talin, because it really wasn't fair to him at all.  Hitari should suffer for a bit, and not feel bad because he was caught betraying Orina Anoris, but feel horrible because of what he did to his lover.  When he feels genuine remorse for what he's done, I'll reconsider my position.
