“Yes, thank you,” Bade said.  “I’ve looked forward to seeing T’rin this morning,” he told Dillane.  “I’ve never seen him in anything but his regular garb.”

“And you won’t,” T’rin said, stepping from his rooms.

Bade couldn’t look away.  T’rin’s customary vest, loincloth, and low boots had been replaced by soft, skimpy, blue versions of the same.  That was not the only change; his black tattoos had been painted in blue, light and dark shades chasing each other over his skin, wandering his back and circling his thighs.

“How was this done?” Dillane asked.  “It’s brilliant.”

“The Royal House of Art supplied the paints,” T’rin said, “and I chose the belas.”

“You had belas paint you?” Bade asked.

“Of course,” T’rin said.  “So that I could take my pleasure on them.  I find being painted a stimulating process.  Paint and body art are a sensual part of my culture.”  With a nod, he strode off, his hostess quick to follow.

Shaking his head, Dillane sighed, watching T’rin go.  “I don’t know how he does it.”

Neither did Bade, but, “I wish that he would teach it to us.”

As I commented in the previous chapter discussion, Dillane's comment on being not the husband for Kudorin and why got Orinakin thinking and doubting his choices for suitors for Kudorin.  I think the conversation in this chapter with Remin was the best foreshadowing of things to come in Kudorin's HEA.

Quote
“Anikira is very like Kudorin, in some ways,” Remin continued.  “And she is a very capable woman, very independent.  She’s gracious and refined, but she’s also assertive and confident.  Kudorin longs for a husband to fawn over, but he also wants a husband who’s his equal, who will be a bit of a challenge for him.  Someone as independent and forceful as Anikira is.”

“Not someone content to remain in his shadow,” Orinakin interpreted.

“Someone who would never be threatened by that idea, because he knows that no shadow could contain him,” Remin said.  “Do not seek to wed the lion to a mouse.  Our lion would much prefer a tiger.”

Or to a Lamb. Hmmm

I like how Kudorin's crown has prisms in it.  Another thread linking him to his future, or his future to him.  I liked all the descriptions of the crowns but I can't contain myself anymore...  Giggle  A Tiara!!!  How  Flirty Blink Sweet...

And I must say...  Dancey Happy Dance Dancing I get to attend my first Anorian Festival!  Anoha Adanotu!!!

I just adore this:
Quote
After firmly explaining that a Nosupolin prince did not wear make-up, asserting that he would consider a confrontation with lip gloss to be an assault upon his person, and adding that he took the entire subject to be a slur against his appearance, Bade left his apartment.

But I'd bet that a certain someone could convince Bade to wear lipgloss for an audience of one. It can't be harder than getting him into a dress, that's for sure.  Giggle
