“Sure.” Stretching, Desin wrapped an arm around his shoulder, drawing him close. “Now,” they began to walk together, “what happened? I thought that you were spending the day with your new lover.”
“He is certainly not my new lover.” Anosanim patted his hair with one hand as they walked. “We decided to part ways.”
“I told you he was an ass.”
“I’m sure that he’s perfectly nice, under the right circumstances.”
Desin snorted. “Which would be?”
“When I’m naked and horizontal, I suppose.” Sighing, Anosanim leaned into Desin’s solid strength. “But maybe I’m too discriminating. Maybe I should be more accepting.”
“You saw through his bullshit, and you wouldn’t tolerate it. It’s better to see it and take care of it now, than see it and stick with him and let him get away with it.”
Anosanim couldn’t argue with that. “I would like a boyfriend, though. Seeing Talin and Hitari together makes me wish that I had someone. But, at the same time, I don’t have time for one. And I don’t really need one. I have love, affection, companionship, and sex in my life.”
“If you’re asking me for advice, you know I’ll just tell you to get laid, make a new friend, and get laid again, not necessarily in that order.” Desin grinned. “We’re princes, Anosanim. We need boyfriends like cows need forks. Don’t waste your time.”
