The speculations are over! “Anikira will have my children, and the three of us will rear them. I will have Xio Voe’s children. The two of us will be the primary caregivers, but I believe that by that time, Xio Voe will accept Anikira in a motherly role for his children. Their home will be here, but they will undoubtedly be granted easy access to the imperial palace. I expect the first child born to be mine with Anikira, but not for several years. We need time to settle into this marriage first.” “How many children do you want?” the royal high priest asked. “Thirteen,” Anosukinom said. “Eight with Anikira and five with Xio Voe.” Can't wait for the wedding!!! Selorin and Vade are at it again! Get a room already!

That was such an absolutely beautiful chapter. I cried a bit more than once. And yeah - is the Pharaoh actually going to give birth to the Heir's children???

Yes, that was what it sounded like, that Kudorin would "have" Xoe Voe and his children. I wonder if he wil do the complete pregnacy thing or shorten it. I also wonder if he and Ankira will ever be pregnant at the same time. That would be kind of neat. I thought Remin did a very thorough job of the engagement interview. We learned so much about how they are going to structure their lives together. It is now confirmed that Xoe Voe will have access to Jacacea till his wedding. I wonder how his restriction to the palace will go over with his Citizens. I was wondering for a while there if Vade and Selorin would ever get together then I see the exchange like they had today and I can see it so clearly. I think they will get to it but I also think that it will not be a clear path. It will be like one day years after meeting each other that they will see that they are perfect for each other, just like Orinakin and Bade are. Selorin will challenge Vade to be a better man and Vade will keep Selorin grounded. I wonder what Tiko would do with both his little brothers married into Anorian Royalty and not being home in Nosupolis to help him rule.

This chapter was chock-full of awesomeness. And did anyone else squee at the thought of another eighth sibling? I'd been wondering if Kudorin was going to have seven or go for another Extra. These two have to admit the inevitable already: “Ass,” Vade said. “You’re an ass. Why do you always talk to me like I’m an idiot?”
“Why do you act like an idiot?” Selorin asked.
“Why do you act so much better than me? I know that you’re a child of the gods, I know that you’re smarter and wittier and sexier and more handsome and more amazing and more experienced and more sophisticated and more everything than I am, but you don’t have to rub it in my face. I’m only ignorant because my education wasn’t as good as yours, not because I’m too stupid to know anything.”
“You love it when I pick at you,” Selorin said. “It arouses you to be challenged, and it arouses you to be put in your place.”
Bade didn’t know whether to be mortified or not. It seemed like a pretty good moment for it.
“But you’re so maddening!” Vade protested. “You’re so frustrating! Why do you always have to make a point? Why can’t we ever just talk? What do you want?”
“I kind of want to touch your nipples,” Selorin said, tipping his head to one side. “They look so sore, I want to soothe them.”
“I guess no one would ever dare to chew on the great royal high judge,” Vade muttered.
“Well, there are limits, with belas,” Selorin said. “Not as much with other citizens, or guests. I’ve definitely enjoyed being nibbled on. But someone seems to have attacked you with gusto.”
Blushing, Vade crossed his arms over his chest. “It was a good night.”

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought it fitting that the first thing I read in 2010 was ITL, so... chapter 168 it is!!
I love this... really, I do. I'll need to banner when I get home.
“It’s nice to know that I’m not alone in suspecting that Kudorin will spend the first year of his marriage committing random and repeated sexual acts on the throne.” I can so imagine it. Anosukinom stopping time in the middle of a formal meeting so that he and Xio Voe can have sex just like that. Ha!!!!
lmao, I love how Vade and Selorin banter with each other! They'll end up married, I don't care what anyone says! Team Selorin/Vade forever!!!!!!!!!!!
ROTFL!! Classic!
“Why do you act so much better than me? I know that you’re a child of the gods, I know that you’re smarter and wittier and sexier and more handsome and more amazing and more experienced and more sophisticated and more everything than I am, but you don’t have to rub it in my face. I’m only ignorant because my education wasn’t as good as yours, not because I’m too stupid to know anything.” Thank you for stating the obvious, Vade, dear.
*bursts into tears*
“Nothing, not even this gift, compares to the gift of your metaphoric heart. Nothing else you offer tonight compares with your love. I would marry you, if you gave me a handful of no more than air. Your love, your companionship, our future together, is the most significant gift.” That was BEAUTIFUL-FUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, where is my PSP?!?!
“Anosukinom relieves pressure by indulging his humanity, finding ways to relax, enjoying the sensual pleasures of life, interacting with his wife and brothers, and petting small, furry creatures, such as immature rabbits.”
Anosukinom grinned. “He means ‘bunnies.’” Bunnies, bunnies it must be BUNNIES!!!!!!!!!!!
*ahem* that was for Liz.
Why is it that people keep coming in and trying to read over my shoulder?!
“On behalf of Ilanosa, the god of love, I, Prince Anosatim Inanodat Anoremin A Hiti, royal high priest and servant of the gods, bless this engagement, and recommend a marriage between you, Anosukinom Mutotanosa Situkabulanin Elanilanulanori Banotuda A Rituliti, and you, Heir Xio Voe. May the gods be with you.” *SQUEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL*
They're gonna get married, they're gonna get married!
We knew that, but STILL!!!!

Vani

I think that a lot of people could benefit from this kind of counsel before getting married!!!
Vani I agree completely Vani. I was thinking this exactly yesterday as I was driving and telling my passenger about the Chapter. As I said earlier... I thought Remin did a very thorough job of the engagement interview. I was so very imprssed with all the questions that he asked. I wonder what it wil take for Selorin to realize that Vade means more to him than just the twin of the love of his twins life.

I'm rereading and I noticed a line that is so quintessentially Xio Voe: Xio Voe intended to waste no time. He would remain unsatisfied until he and Anosukinom were married. Therefore, all obstacles between himself and the wedding ceremony must be obliterated. Immediately. It's intense and direct and so incredibly goal-oriented. It kind of gave me a shiver--in a good way--to imagine being the object of that focus. I think I finally get why it bowls Kudorin over so much.

I think that only someone with the intensity of the Heir would be good enough for our beloved Pharaoh.
