Anosukinom: Why couldn’t Remin and Orinakin be more like Desin? On the list of impossible miracles, a green tiger was a lot easier to pull off than the eradication of poverty. Hmmm . . .

I loved this chapter. I laughed so many times. Kudorin and the rook. Bade and the shoes and Anosanim. Talin and Bade. Bade and feet. Rini, always. Then there's Tano and Remin. I kinda feel just like Anosukinom - get on with it already!!!

Remin hadn’t wanted to leave his office. His office was where Very Good Things came to him. His office was where his happiness thrived. His happiness was where everything seemed so right with the world.
But then he’d realized, somewhat fuzzily, that sometimes Very Good Things came while he was away. So if left his office, and then went back in, Very Good Things might have arrived in his absence. I love this.

I can't wait for 224. I love the end of this chapter (223) and the way that Xio Voe talks about Remin and Tano to Remin and Remin has no idea who is actually involved. I also loved that one god (probably Ilanosa) was "upset" that another one called the situation "distracting"! Kind of an insult to Ilanosa, though.

Oh, wow! They have met. I love the way that Remin now feels more relaxed around other men, but I think that there're going to be some interesting situations. Somehow I think Remin's going to be angry though.

Is that the one that cooked the meal they all liked? Cause I was thinking the same thing Yep. That's the one. The other chefs were acting like he didn't know what he was doing and then one tried to take credit for his information and work.

While this chapter didn't have a great deal of excitement, I really enjoyed it. I loved those Vade conversations and the one at the end between Xio Voe and Anosukinom. If the orgy is included in the next chapter, I'll be interested to see Talin's actions and thoughts, and maybe his brothers' reactions to him.

I loved that sentence, Silvermoon28! One thing I want to know is how much time passed by in this chapter. It seems to have been quite a bit. All that travel and visitation had to take many weeks, maybe months?

Remembering what's been said about the trips around the country while the current generation were children, I'd guess that Anikira won't in any way be just a baby factory. Her job is just as important as any of the others to Orina Anoris. It seems that she will be working full time. She can't wait to start either. I loved the scene where she began to review her plans and lists and maps.

Yeah, I was trying to figure out just how much time had passed in the latest chapter. At least a couple of months? Hmmm . . . now where was that calendar that someone wonderful posted a bit ago. Edit: I found the post. Thanks, Mountie! And it seems to have been 3-1/2 months, maybe? From Tildobuna to halfway through Tildosalin. It's not quite been a year in the series yet.

I don't see the whole world changing so rapidly within the next 30+ years, though, or even after the next generation. I mean that the different nations will still be there. The gods aren't just going to glom together into one set or so. I see the nations working together more, but I don't see the world coming under one rule. Orina Anoris works so very well with the divisions set up as they are that I think it will stay that way for quite some time to come. Most of the world rejoices in their individuality. I do hope that the Jacaceans begin to see their ways as stealing the individuality from others and that stealing as wrong. There shouldn't be only "one true way" on that whole world as Jacacea wants it to be. I do have serious trouble with Jacacea and their laws viewing the stealing of whole nations as acceptable when they have such a developed justice system that views theft as wrong. After all it is the same thing, just degree differences.

Yes, I noticed that "Part 1" on the published Purple Book and I assume that there will be more parts to it. (hint, hint!) However, I've been re-reading and had just passed those chapters, 65 and 76. It just seemed to me that there was a bit of a natural break when Bade and Orinakin left for their trip. At that point, (77/78) the foreshadowing of Xio Voe begins, i.e. the dreams and such.

"In This Land" / ITL General Discussion / Purple Book Question
|
on: February 27, 2010, 01:42:29 AM

Hello all. I've been wondering just what parts make up the Purple Book and where the Rainbow Book begins. Does the Purple Book end with the Orinakin/Bade wedding (65) or does it end when Orinakin and Bade leave Orina Anoris on their first ambassadorial trip (76)?

Greetings to everyone from a new member! I just got sucked into ITL from the BDB forums. I love what I've read so far and can't wait to get my access to the rest of the chapters! By the way, I just cannot decide on a brother to promote in a sig. I love them all.
