Hi.
I'm Matthew.
So high-tech, this place! So modern!
Anyway, I've been reading Matthew's work for a long time, and I hope to meet a lot of nice people here on this board.
And you?

Hello there!! OMG, a message board, awesome!! I'm Falconer. I'm an ITL newbie, but a Matthew veteran (does 4-years count?)! Right now I gotta go to my morning class, but I'm looking forward to having some really cool discussions here!

Hi, I'm Vivian or Viv or whatever form of V type nickname you choose. I've managed to somehow stumble upon this amazing writer and the proceeded to gobble up almost every word he's written and posted on the net. You really are just fantastic Matthew, so I'll say thanks now. Someday if we get a chance to talk, I'll gush on and on about how I spent weeks reading Sucker and Living and Attainable and I'll tell you that Two Bodies is like... my absolute favorite thing and have reread it so many times I've lost count and then pimped you our to my friends and readers in my blog cause you're too good to keep a secret. But until then...
I'm a wife, and a mom of two kids, and I write gay porn... well, I try to tell myself it's not porn, but something more like gay romantic fiction... who knows.
Anyway, congratulations on starting this board. I'm sure it will grow into a great community of people.
Hugs, Viv

Hi, everyone. I'm Jae. ^_____^
I first remember reading Matthew's short stories back in 2001, I think, and then I'd check back randomly for new shorts. One day, in 2007 (you'll soon learn I have an excellent memory for text and a terrible memory for real life), I checked his site again and lo and behold! A series called ITL! Haha... the rest, as they say, is history.
Hmm... as for the rest of it... I'm an English major and graduating senior at UCB (Oh God, must find full-time job!), and if you haven't seen me in action at Matthew's livejournal or on his yahoo!group, you will at some point. I'm in love with ITL, and I love good debates and discussions, and I love citations--so... don't be surprised if I engage in a debate about ITL with you at some point.
(Though I'll try harder now to scope out a bit in my first reply post to you to see if you actually want to engage in debate, or maybe ask whether other people want to debate with me on what you said if you don't want to...? Hmm, that second one is gonna be new for me, but I figure I should try it. Maybe other people would like that, too?)
Anyway, the message board looks fantastic! And I'm happy to see that a bunch of people are as excited by it as I am!
That's all for now...
- Jae

Hello everyone - I'm jcchaser on LJ, and have been reading Matthew's RPS for a couple of years - totally hooked on Sucker! I finally made the plunge and subscribed to ITL a year ago, and haven't looked back.

I've also been reading Mattslash since around 2001... I remember because it was right before my Backstreet Boys show in September 2001 and I remember thinking that Nick and Kev were going to make out onstage. I wonder how I could have gotten that in my head? :D

Hello everyone!! I'm Liz or Lizzard. You might know me from LJ or Yahoo (LakeLilac). I've been a Mattslash fan since late 2002, so I'm a little behind some of the others. I have read basically everything he's ever written, except Sucker. I got so far in it and had to quit cuz Evil Brian was giving me nightmares. I am 39 years old and I have a variety of obsessions - boybands, gay erotica, My Chemical Romance, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, vampires, and wrestling to name a few.

One just has to remember that these are characters in stories and not actual people - even if it's Brian who's a maniac in 'Sucker', I know he's not a maniac in real life... okay, I lied, he's a maniac onstage but still! You get my point!!! I hope your cold gets better!! Vani

Hi I'm Susanne or you can call me Sue. I live in Michigan and I am a single Mom of two. I work full time at a job I love and thank god everyday I have my job. One of my favorite hobbies is the Paranormal, I like to go on ghosthunts and watch all the shows. Liz introduced me to Matthews work back in 2003, I think? I have read most of his work. Liz one day sends me the link to the first 3 free chapters of ITL and tells me to check it out and that I'm going to love this story. Well I said OK and stuck it in my favorite places and kept telling her everytime she asked me if I have read it yet that I just don't think I could get into a story like that so finally after about a YEAR of sitting in my favorites I got bored one night and had nothing to do so I decided to read the chapters and a hour later I was subscribed....LOL Looking forward to chatting with all of you.

Lmao, Sue! Welcome to the crazy Mattboard! I'm also guilty of procrastinating as far as reading updates is concerned. I'm going to Chicago next week, and there's a possibility that I won't be able to read the updates while I'm there... and I know that I'll be waiting until two weeks after I get back to keep reading... Then again, that'll be about 4 parts in one sitting! *cackle* Vani

Hi, I'm Rhia. I'm an ITL newbie (I started reading a couple weeks ago!) and I''m lovin' it. Other than commenting on the potential lewdness of certain names, I've been avoiding the discussions so far, mostly because the lovely person who introduced me to ITL has been threatening me with pain of death if I look at spoilers.
I found ITL through a school friend, after she noticed that I had a rather notorious slash fanfic writer added on LiveJournal. I called her after I read the first three chapters, to tell her that she had gotten me hooked on literary crack right at the start of the semester. She's doing her penance by patiently receiving at least ten text messages a day with questions and comments.
Edit: It occurs to me, looking at the sidebar, that 'Extra Member' sounds a little lewd, too. As in, "Hello, sir, do you happen to have an extra member?"

(FYI for the few people who may not be so familiar with European geography - Switzerland and Sweden are as far apart as Washington DC is from Miami lol )
Vani (The Crazy One) Thanks! I look forward to it! It's not totally unusual that non-europeans think that Sweden and Switzerland is close. We don't even speak close to the same language.. Are you from the French speaking part or the german?

Haha, don't worry. I'm not afraid and I would love a challenge. And yes you would probably be able to fool me with that expression, because one can fool me to the moon and back, backwards and I would not be aware of it. Maybe I shouldn't have said that... Oh well, whatever. Anyway, I am hard to scare away. I am really stubborn..

Well hello there, board.
I'm Bee. I'm a relative MHT newbie (I stumbled across Sweet Uncleanness about six months ago) and have been a rabid Sucker fan since the moment I laid eyes on it, but I just started In This Land oh...a week ago? Something like that. But it's dragged me in just like all his other fics, only more so, because, well, pretty colors.
That may not have made much sense, but the entire point of me de-lurking so quickly is in the hopes that I can talk to people who get it.
Um. I photoshop and I draw, and I really want to fanart for ITL. I've got a few possibilities but no 'omg gotta work now' inspirations, so feel free to toss ideas at me, if you've got them.

Queenbee! Ideas for Fan Art? Well, what kind of things do you do in Photoshop? Manips or regular stuff? Do you draw people or scenery or objects (or all of them )? We can't represent Kudorin (because he's a god and all that), but... Norisa is a good idea! Personally, I would love to see a balloon. Or a scene of one of the festivals (just lots of people and kids cheering and having a good time with confetti and ribbons and stands and lots of colors!). Or a scene of the canals and boats in Jacacea. (or maybe you haven't reached that part yet? ).

Hi! I'm Ana. I'm from the Philippines but I've been working in Saudi Arabia for almost 10 years now. I stumbled into ITL when I read "Guys In College" on ebook (no way would it come out on print here!) last 2006. I was hooked ever since Reading the posts here is so much fun so I'm de-lurking. I'm looking forward to interacting with all you wonderful people!

Yes, I should. I've been to the site, always meant to read Living and Sucker and the rest, but for some lazy-assed reason I haven't yet. RL takes up all my time but I'll be unemployed in 45 days so I have time

Ana: What, not out in print? Ummmm. I guess you won't be ordering the Purple Book quite yet then. Will you be going back to the Philippines when your job is done? Can you go around Saudi Arabia freely? Do you dress Western?
There's severe censorship in Saudi Arabia so not a lot of books come through. Homosexuality is a crime here so yeah, no gay books, and definitely no gay erotica. But I have the printed book of "The Purple Book". I had it shipped from the US. Inside the hospital compound where I work, it's quite normal, we can dress in normal clothes (no shorts or sleeveless tops) and we live a somewhat normal life. But outside, it's a totally different world. The country has very restricted rules, especially for women. I have to watch what I wear, to whom I speak, and where I eat. Not everyone can bear to live here but having my husband here with me makes it okay for me. We can go out and travel anywhere in the world on our vacation time. My husband and I usually travel 3-4 times a year. We really need those vacations to get a breather from this place, you know? When we're done and saved enough money, we'll be going settling in Canada. Ana

Hi Quintanna!
From the ITL Subscription FAQ page:
To find it later, log in to your PayPal account and go to the "History" subtab of the "My Account" tab. Choose "Subscriptions" from the pull-down menu and press the "Submit" button. Click on the Status link for "In This Land Subscription"; the Subscription Details page will list your username and password.

... Now I just have to remember what Falconer said to find that paypal thing. It has been so long. ...
Like Falconer said, the information is always available, in case you forget, on the FAQ page. You can get there easily from the main ITL page. - Diamond

This is my first post to any board.
I have read ITL for the past two years and have been reading the board as a lurker since it started to get up my courage to join. This sequence was my catalyst.
I dearly love ITL and Matthew's collective work. My Friday nights and Saturday mornings are enriched by this gift we are blessed with each week. Diamond's efforts and support of Matthew's efforts can't be described and I am very grateful for her adding to the experience.
Last year I had my Laptop hard drive fuse with all my paypal data in it, along with all my other critical data. After buying a new computer, I had to start finding my favorite sites and setting up new accounts with everyone. I didn't know about this help with PayPal. I am glad this forum is here for others today.
To everyone who has been on the board, I have enjoyed the discussions about ITL. I hope to add my input in the future.
Happy Sunday or Monday if you are in Asia!
Mary

Greetings, everyone!
There were a few posts and some conversation after Diamond's post, that have been moved to the off-topic thread, as they ventured into other territory. Just wanted to clarify, since I left a few posts like Quinntanna's last one here, and they refer to the moved posts.
All of that aside, welcome! Thank you all for stopping by, and for enjoying my work. Your support and your awesomeness are greatly appreciated.
-Matthew

Hello everyone! I'm Dena, and I'm pretty new to Matthew's work, and haven't read through everything yet, but I did catch up on ITL and am, naturally, completely addicted and a huge fan. I was pointed here by falconer, whom I've been chatting with about the series in my livejournal.
I'm in Florida, live on a horse farm (though it's more like a horse parking lot these days, since the big guys just amble around the field and don't work!) and In This Land pretty much shattered my former, firm resolution to never read Works in Progress. I loved it too much to stop, despite knowing I'd have to wait!
So hello!

Dena! I usually avoid WIPs too, and I put off reading ITL for a long time. Then I found out that there were to be EIGHT books!! I realized I would be waiting for a while... so I decided to read the sample chapters. And that was it. I was hooked!
