Developments in Literacy (DIL)
Since its
inception in 1997, Developments in Literacy (DIL) has given hope to many
young Pakistani children by bringing them the gift of education.
Literacy rates in Pakistan average 49% nationwide and in remote rural
areas can be as low as 0.5% for women. It is one of the few countries
where illiteracy is on the rise, and is ranked second in the world for
having the most out-of-school children (6.5 million), according to a
UNESCO report.
Disabled American Veterans (DAV)
With more than 1.2
million members, Disabled American Veterans is an organization of disabled
veterans who are focused on building better lives for disabled veterans and
their families. The organization accomplishes this goal by providing free
assistance to veterans in obtaining benefits and services earned through their
military service. It is fully funded through its membership dues and public
contributions. It is not a government agency and receives no government funds.

Helping Others (WHO)
The WHO Foundation was established in 1993 and born from the philosophy
of Women Helping Others. The Who Foundation reaches out, on grass-roots
level, to women and children whose needs have been neglected and are
underserved. Since its inception, the Who Foundation has granted over
$3.5 million to over 310 charities in 45 states and Puerto Rico,
touching the lives of more than 350,000 women and children in need.

international efforts to protect endangered species and their habitats.
Now in its fifth decade, WWF works in more than 100 countries around the
globe to conserve the diversity of life on earth. With nearly 1.2
million members in the U.S. and another 4 million worldwide, WWF is the
world's largest privately financed conservation organization.
