Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS
The nation's leading industry based HIV/AIDS fundraising and grant-making organization. BC/EFA's grantmaking has two emphases. The first is The Actors' Fund of America. BC/EFA currently supports five major social service programs at The Fund, each of which provides direct assistance to entertainment industry professionals and performing artists who are dealing with a variety of problems, including AIDS, HIV, and HIV-related issues.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America
In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.
CARE
CARE is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. We place special focus on working alongside poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty. Developments in Literacy (DIL)
Since its inception in 1997, Developments in Literacy (DIL) has given hope to many young Pakistani children by bringing them the gift of education. Literacy rates in Pakistan average 49% nationwide and in remote rural areas can be as low as 0.5% for women. It is one of the few countries where illiteracy is on the rise, and is ranked second in the world for having the most out-of-school children (6.5 million), according to a UNESCO report.
Disabled American Veterans (DAV)
With more than 1.2 million members, Disabled American Veterans is an organization of disabled veterans who are focused on building better lives for disabled veterans and their families. The organization accomplishes this goal by providing free assistance to veterans in obtaining benefits and services earned through their military service. It is fully funded through its membership dues and public contributions. It is not a government agency and receives no government funds.
DonorsChoose.org is dedicated to addressing the scarcity and inequitable distribution of learning materials and experiences in our public schools. DonorsChoose.org will improve public education by engaging citizens in an online marketplace where teachers describe and individuals can fund specific student projects. We envision a nation where students in every community have the resources they need to learn.
The Dorough Lupus Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organization. The Foundation's goals are to aide in research, educate the public and to provide financial assistance to organizations helping individuals living with Lupus who cannot afford treatment.

Environmental Defense is dedicated to protecting the environmental rights of all people, including future generations. National AIDS Fund
NAF supports over 400 grassroots organizations annually which in turn provide HIV prevention, care and support services to underserved individuals and populations most impacted by HIV/AIDS including communities of color, youth and women. The National AIDS Fund connects national and local funders, scientists, and community based organizations. With its Partnerships, it invests more than $8 million annually in HIV/AIDS grant making to agencies nationwide.

National Center for Lesbian Rights
NCLR is a national legal resource center with a primary commitment to advancing the rights and safety of lesbians and their families through a program of litigation, public policy advocacy, and public education. National Center for Transgender Equality
The National Center for Transgender Equality is a national social justice organization devoted to ending discrimination and violence against transgender people through education and advocacy on national issues of importance to transgender people. National Coalition for Sexual Freedom
The National Coalition for Sexual Freedom is a national organization committed to creating a political, legal, and social environment in the United States that advances equal rights of consenting adults who practice forms of alternative sexual expression. NCSF is primarily focused on the rights of consenting adults in the SM-leather-fetish, swing, and polyamory communities, who often face discrimination because of their sexual expression.
National Gay and Lesbian Task Force
Founded in 1973, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Foundation (the Task Force) was the first national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights and advocacy organization and remains the movement's leading voice for freedom, justice, and equality. National Multiple Sclerosis Society
The National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to do something about MS now—to move together toward a world free of multiple sclerosis. MS stops people from moving. We exist to make sure it doesn't. We help each person address the challenges of living with MS through our 50-state network of chapters.
National Organization for Women
The National Organization for Women (NOW) is the largest organization of feminist activists in the United States. NOW has 500,000 contributing members and 550 chapters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Since its founding in 1966, NOW's goal has been to take action to bring about equality for all women.
National Women's History Museum
Founded in 1996, the National Women's History Museum is a nonpartisan, nonprofit educational institution dedicated to revealing, presenting, and celebrating the rich and diverse history of women's contributions that have shaped American culture and society. The Museum will be established in Washington, D.C., where the world's most prominent museums and monuments are located.
Natural Resources Defense Council
NRDC is the nation's most effective environmental action organization. We use law, science and the support of more than 1 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things.
The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.
The ninemillion.org campaign was created in 2006 by the UN refugee agency. The goal of the campaign is to give more than nine million children better access to education, sport and technology by 2010. The ninemillion.org website exists to raise funds, but also to give voice to those who often go unheard, allowing visitors to see pictures of the camps where children pass much of their lives, read refugee children's stories and understand what refugee children's lives are like.
Oxfam America
Oxfam America is a Boston-based international development and relief agency and an affiliate of Oxfam International. Working with local partners, Oxfam delivers development programs and emergency relief services, and campaigns for change in global practices and policies that keep people in poverty. Oxfam America works on the scene, helping people gain the hope, skills, and direction to create a new future.
Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians & Gays (PFLAG)
PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood believes in the fundamental right of each individual, throughout the world, to manage his or her fertility, regardless of the individual's income, marital status, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or residence. We believe that respect and value for diversity in all aspects of our organization are essential to our well-being. We believe that reproductive self-determination must be voluntary and preserve the individual's right to privacy.
Poverty.com was created for all people around the world who want to end poverty. It was started in January 2007 by a private individual (John Breen) and has no political, religious, or corporate affiliation. Please also visit our sister site for world hunger, FreeRice.

Servicemembers Legal Defense Network
Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN) is a national, non-profit legal services, watchdog and policy organization dedicated to ending discrimination against and harassment of military personnel affected by "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and related forms of intolerance.
Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE)
SAGE is the world's oldest and largest non-profit agency dedicated to serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender senior citizens. Since its inception, SAGE has pioneered programs and services for seniors in the GLBT community, and countless organizations across the U.S. (including a number of independent SAGE affiliates) have turned to SAGE for support in developing programs for GLBT seniors in their communities.
The Sierra Club's members are more than 750,000 of your friends and neighbors. Inspired by nature, we work together to protect our communities and the planet. The Club is America's oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization.
SOS Children's Villages is an independent, non-governmental and social development organisation, which has been active in the field of children's needs, concerns and rights since 1949. Its activities focus on neglected and abandoned children and orphans, as well as disadvantaged families. If a child cannot stay with his/her biological family, his/her right to care, protection and equal opportunities should still be guaranteed.
This is a movement about change, as individuals, as a country, and as a global community. Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund
Transgender people have been subject to pervasive discrimination that has kept them, with rare exceptions, hidden from public view. While this discrimination has begun to lessen, transgender people still experience much prejudice and violence. TLDEF is committed to ending discrimination based upon gender identity and expression and to achieving equality for transgender people.

Waterkeeper Alliance
Waterkeeper Alliance connects and supports local Waterkeeper programs to provide a voice for waterways and their communities worldwide. Women Helping Others (WHO)
The WHO Foundation was established in 1993 and born from the philosophy of Women Helping Others. Since its inception, the Who Foundation has granted over $3.5 million to over 310 charities in 45 states and Puerto Rico, touching the lives of more than 350,000 women and children in need.
World Wildlife Fund
